Where the word Yamish/dry fruit in Arabic did comes from?
The word Yamish is Turkish origin and refers to dried fruits and nuts. It was used in Egypt for (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, dates, raisins and Qamar al-Din) and other foods during the month of Ramadan. Egypt was the most famous market for selling Yamish in the eighth century in Bab Al-Nasr Street, then it moved in the ninth century to Al-Gamaleya, Wakala al-Balah, the coast of Rod al-Faraj, and Bab al-Bahr.
